- Has a task ever felt too challenging, too boring - or both - so that you just couldn't get yourself to do it until the very last minute?
- Have you ever felt helpless while watching a deadline coming closer and closer?
This is what procrastination looks like, and we've probably all done it one time or another. Procrastination is tricky, because it makes us feel better for a moment without changing the reason for our initial discomfort.
In this webinar, our speaker will talk to us about why procrastination is so hard to get out of sometimes. We will learn what a "procrastination loop" is and learn about specific tools and strategies to break out of them.
Our speaker Desiree Dickerson, PhD, has earned degrees in neuroscience and clinical psychology. She specializes in academic's and grad students' mental health as a professional counselor, where she advocates a better work-life balance in academia.
Check out her widely recognized articles on related topics in Science and Nature as well as on her homepage https://desireedickerson.com/
A big shout out to ECN for generously supporting this webinar!
Just like last time, it would be great if you could use your real names to enter the zoom meeting. We will allow people in manually to avoid being bombed, so please show up 2 or 3 minutes earlier if you can.
Hope to see you there!
