Henrike Moll, Dilthey Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig and faculty member of the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, was awarded the Young Mind & Brain Prize for her creativity and originality in designing experimental paradigms aimed at assessing social cognition abilities in early infancy, and in convincingly combining experimental research with large-scale theoretical reflection. The award ceremony will be held in Turin on 12 October 2011.
The Young Mind & Brain Prize has been awarded since 2010 to early career scientists whose innovative research has led to significant breakthroughs in the understanding of the mind and brain and who have demonstrated outstanding scientific creativity and productivity. The Young Mind & Brain Prize was established by the Centre for Cognitive Science of the University and Polytechnic of Turin, Italy, to recognize outstanding achievement in advancing our knowledge about mind and brain in the field of Cognitive Science.
Winners receive a travel stipend to Turin, and an original work of art by a renowned Italian artist. The prize recipient is also invited to deliver two lectures on topics concerning their research.
