Once admitted, doctoral candidates become full doctoral members of the Berlin School Mind and Brain. Our graduate school’s faculty members, who act as supervisors and lecturers in the doctoral program, are based at Humboldt-Universität and other universities and institutions in the metropolitan area. These include Freie Universität Berlin, Charité (the joint university medical school and university hospitals of Humboldt-Universität and Freie Universität), Technische Universität Berlin, and the universities of Potsdam, Magdeburg, and Leipzig. M&B supervisors based in non-university institutions such as Max Planck institutes in Berlin and Leipzig will always have a university affiliation with one of the universities listed above.
Doctoral candidates will usually register as doctoral candidates and matriculate as doctoral students in the same university and faculty as one of their supervisors. Enrolment may also depend on the candidates’s previous degrees.
Doctoral candidates accepted into the Berlin School of Mind and Brain may discuss their registration as a doctoral candidate and their matriculation and degree options with the M&B management.
